How to Grill a Great Steak

There are several steps to take in grilling the perfect steak. Firstly, you need to choose the cut of beef that is best for you. If you like to have the flavor of the bone, then the T-Bone steak is the best choice, but for a more tender steak, the tenderloin fillet is ideal. If a large juicy steak gets your taste buds going, a sirloin steak is what you'll need to buy.
When you are ready to cook your steak, make sure that you take the meat out of the refrigerator about 30 minuets before cooking. By doing this, your steak will get to room temperature, therefore relaxing the meat, which will give you a more tender steak.
If you wish to marinate your steak, now is the time. If you just want to enjoy the steak without different flavors, season it with Kosher salt and freshly ground back pepper.
Heat your grill; you will know the grill is hot enough if, when you put the steaks on, you hear a sizzle. If you don't hear this, take the steaks off and wait several minuets. Grill the steaks for three to five minutes on each side. A good way of testing how well your steak is cooked is by touching the steak and then touching your face; for a rarer steak, your steak should be bouncy, a little like your cheeks. A well done steak should feel firm, rather like your forehead. Once cooked to your own preference, leave the steak to rest for a couple of minutes. Letting the meat rest causes the juices from the steak to absorb back into the meat. Finally, enjoy your scrumptious steak.
