There are salads for everyone’s taste. You can find fruit, vegetable and meat or just vegetable. The same applies for dressings. There is a sweet dressing for fruit, plain oil or vinegar and even heavy or light dressing. Pretty much anything can be put into a salad. Some people make salads out of potatoes, noodles, seafood, cheese, nuts or eggs.
There are several types of green salad known as garden or tossed salads. These salads consist of some type of lettuce and usually include cucumbers, onions, carrots, green peppers, celery, radishes or any other type of vegetable that you desire. Some people like to put nuts, raisins, cheese, croutons, sunflower seeds and bacon bits in their salad. Dressings for these types of salads are just as diverse. Dressings can include Balsamic vinegar, Russian, blue cheese, ranch, French and Caesar dressing. Baby spinach makes an excellent salad with any type of vinaigrette dressing. There are several fruit salads and most fruit salads are sweet. Ambrosia is one type of fruit salad. This type of salad includes fruit cocktail, bananas, mandarin oranges and cherries. The dressing for most fruit salads is whipped cream.
A lot of fruit salads are made with gelatin and contain fruit. Pasta salad is a favorite of many people. It is usually made with flavored noodles, olives and pepperoni. A dressing of vinegar and oil with seasoning is perfect with this salad. Potato salad is another favorite. This salad consists of diced cooked potatoes and any other favorite item of the maker. Usually potato salad is mixed with mayonnaise. There are salads and dressings for everyone’s taste. You need to sample a variety to find your favorite.
