Easy Steak Marinades


Marinades can make or break a meal, especially when it comes to choice steak cuts. Everyone needs to know how to make a couple quick and easy steak marinades. While it is generally best to allow most marinades to soak in overnight. There are a couple of tricks to get around that. Cutting your meat into thin slices or tenderizing it can significantly reduce marinating and cooking time. Although, if you have the time. There are many different marinades from the very plain and simple designed to add a touch of pepper to the very bizarre combining ingredients such as ketchup and honey. But the best marinades are the ones you add your own personal touch to. After all who knows what you and your family like more than you? Don’t worry about experimenting with marinades. Today we’ll learn how to make some very easy steak marinades including spicy, BBQ, teriyaki, Italian and even the bizarre one with ketchup and honey I alluded to earlier.

The simple marinade is just a very basic red wine, pepper and vegetable oil marinade.

Simple Marinade

Combine:

1/4th cup of vegetable or peanut oil

1 tsp. seasoning of your choice (salt, garlic salt, onion powder, etc.)

1 ½ tsp. of pepper

2 Tbsp. of red wine

Now all you do is put it on the steak, cook it and enjoy. If you’re in the mood for something a little spicier.

Spicy Marinade

Combine:

2 cups of beer (your favorite beer is recommended)

Dash of salt

½ cup olive oil

1 tsp. of each: cayenne pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder

1 Tbsp. of horseradish

1 Tbsp. of pepper

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

You can add your favorite hot sauce to this recipe just substitute a little bit for any of the other liquids. Hot sauce is even considered a healthy alternative to BBQ sauce in some recipes. Speaking of BBQ marinades.

BBQ Marinade

Combine:

1 cup BBQ sauce

½ cup spicy mustard

1 Tbsp. pepper

1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

¼ cup soy sauce

The addition of spicy mustard to most BBQ marinade recipes may seem strange but it is very welcome and isn’t the least bit overwhelming.

Teriyaki Marinade

Combine and Simmer:

½ cup vegetable oil

½ cup brown sugar

4oz. soy sauce

2 garlic cloves, minced

½ cup pineapple juice

Combine the ingredients then bring them to a light simmer before applying this particular marinade.

Italian Marinade

Combine:

¼ cup A1 steak sauce

½ cup Italian dressing (your favorite will work)

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. pepper

This exact recipe will also make a delicious chicken marinade and is wonderful on the grill.

Bizarre Marinade (ginger-honey marinade)

Combine and Simmer:

¼ cup of each: chicken broth, honey, and soy sauce

1 Tbsp. ketchup

¼ tsp. of ginger

1 tsp. garlic powder

Bring this one to a very light simmer to mix that honey in real nice.
